About the Mixer Project

Inspired by each component of the new commission, sound designer & digital artist Yann Seznec has developed an original software tool that allows young people to create their own digital music score, set to a selection of pre-edited video extracts from the Man High projections. The software is designed to provide first time users with a simple yet powerful audio and video processor, allowing them to learn and discover new skills through play. Users can save their performances and share them with others.

The Windows version requires Quicktime, which is a free download from here.

The Mixer was trialed by young people at the City Halls on the 24th Sept as part of Glasgow Music’s Family Music Fun Day, and some of the pieces created are available to listen to on our YouTube channel. We’d like to thank our music leaders who volunteered their time and expertise on the 24th Sept and whose energy and commitment to the project helped make this such a success.

The Man High Mixer project is a Love Music / Glasgow Concert Halls collaboration and has been made possible by a Creative Scotland Youth Music Initiative grant.
